SKELLEFTEÅ with one line

I created this drawing with just ONE LINE.

It took me 8 hours to complete. I worked without lifting the stylus from the iPad. During moments when I needed to pause — to rest or to move the image on the tablet and continue working on another part—I lifted my hand in a visible spot. I then resumed the drawing exactly where I had left off, continuing the same line. At the bottom of the artwork, you can see the beginning of the line in the letter “L” of the word “line,” and the end in the letter “E” of the word “one.”

Story of the Poster

When I decided to move from Poland to Sweden, I chose a city far up north – Skellefteå (in the local dialect it’s pronounced “Shell-efteyo,” and in the southern dialect, “Hwelefteyo”).

It all began with an invitation to visit. One visit was enough for me to feel that I didn’t want to live anywhere else. I had found exactly the place I had been searching for throughout my adult life. It was such a deep and certain feeling that it’s impossible to describe in words, but I hope it comes through in this image. I’ve tried to capture peace, happiness, the scent of fresh air, the chirping of crickets, the rustling of grass and leaves. This place brought me back to life after the hardest experiences. It’s where I’ve found the love of my life. This place is full of meaning and emotion.

Life is unpredictable and sometimes calls for change. My partner’s job brought us to Stockholm, but a part of me will always remain in Skellefteå. I am convinced that the time will come for me to return.

That’s where I was reborn. That’s where my line began.
